This was probably the best DC I've been too. And you wanna know why? Because I just saw how idotic these talks were. I re-read the notes I took (Yeah I was pretty much one of the few young ones who actually took notes voluntarily), and I was astounded at how ridiculous they are. The drama was so boring and totally perdictable. I only went on Sunday, but I saw my mom's notes for the other two days. Wow.
Oh but on the flip side, I got to listen to some talks outside. Yes! Leg room! Some smart people brought boom boxes and put on the frequency of the DC. Of course, I wanted so bad to change the station to KROCK..since that was the metal meltdown weekend.
Well that's my sentiments. More soon on upcoming events :-).

It's always fun to look around, finding well respected brothers sleeping :-)
One time I blasted Welcome To The Jungle (Guns N Roses), in the parking lot. Lol that was fun! I think I should do Running With The Devil (Van Halen) this year. -

what proves jw's aren't true?
by jwfacts ini am inactive and it took years of doubt to convince myself the jw's arent true.
i started doubting because i hated the idea that jehovah would kill 6 billion non-jw's.
the thing now that is the most important proof for me is that until 1954 jw's worshipped jesus and it is still in the watchtower charter, even though you now get disfellowshipped for worshipping jesus.

When I first started researching about cults, many attributes of a cult were similar to JW's. Plus, a lot of the doctrines didn't make sense. Espeically the birthday thing. That always confused me when I was a kid. Now I just say " Don't worry if anyones head comes off I'll come home".
Plus the fact that the die hards are mostly full of themselves, so close minded. I sometimes try to explain the history and debacles, but they just pass it off as "apostate" material and how the FDS are "shedding new light"..oh man that always makes my blood boil. "new light"..grr.
So yeah that's my story. Excuse me for ranting about new light lol -

Will the WTS Org change or Die Out?
by doinmypart inthe wts org has:.
a formidable enemy (ex/former members),.
an enemy with an excellent communication tool unavailable in the past (the internet),.

I agre that there will be probably be subtle changes in the future. Trust me, there are some people I know who are so into it, relying on every utterence of the WTS literature. I think the holiday beliefs are going to become more lienient as if they aren't already.

I always wanted to know what was so 'discreet' about these people. Do they get a kick out of "shedding new light at the proper time."

Hi. I'm new too posting here but I've been lurking since the summer. How I came across this site? A brother at one of them conventions warned us about 'sites on the internet that can threaten our faith' and I was like "psh if this is the truth, what information could possibly do that?" Well, Google came up with some interesting stuff let me tell you that ;-). Anyway, it's funny how I think so much like most of the users here even before finding the site. Even people who are regulars at meetings and such, post here. Amazing, I love the underground secrecy lol. Hm well I hope you all welcome a 'young one' here :-)

When I was a kid, I didn't want to be a JW.
by kwintestal ini'm thinking back to my childhood here, and remembering hanging out with my jw friends.
my buddies and i, when we were 9, 10 years old knew that we wouldn't stay jws.
we hated the restrictions that were put on us and hated being different.

I didn't really mind when I was a kid. I guess since most of my friends were thier and stuff. I usually felt apathetic when it came to holidays and things like that. Although I did miss out on a lot of parties :-(. Things definantly would've been differently have what I know now and what I knew then.

Naughty children
by Ellie in.
i heared something the other day that made me sick.. apparentely its been brought out in a talk recently that children are becoming more and more imperfect due to us being right at the end of the system.. i was told that the witnesses are saying that this generation of kids being born have a natural bad streak that makes them so willfull and disobedient.. i don't know what they are saying should be done about it but i imagine they are probably encouraging harsher discipline.. the mind boggles!

Well to quote Skid Row "We are the youth gone wild!" But yes me being 16, I see all around me, JW or not, kids have become pretty wild. However, trying to coerce them into a certain way of thinking will only make matters worse. We need more compromising and such. Eh what do I know..I'm just a "young one" muahaha.
